Sandra Joan Porter, 77 of Blissfield, MI, formerly of Samaria, MI, died Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Blissfield Assisted Living from Corticobasal Degeneration . Born April 28, 1938 in Jackson, MI, she was the daughter of Ernest and Verbena (Knuth) Greene. A 1957 graduate of Blissfield High School, she married James Porter on August 2, 1958. He preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 2002. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Samaria and enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and playing the piano.
She is survived by her loving children Carl (Pam) Porter, Brian (Susan) Porter and Marlene Johnson; sisters, Gerry Knaggs, and Cynthia “Jean” (Charles) Schmidlin; brother, William Greene and 9 grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Darlene Schmidt.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am.
