Richard W. “Dick” Gambrell, 82 of Toledo, OH, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in Flower Hospital. Born September 23, 1932 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of John E., Sr. and Jeanette (Ward) Gambrell. A US Army veteran of the Korean War, he married Yvonne H. Zimmerman on May 4, 1957. She preceded him in death on January 31, 2013. He and Yvonne owned and operated Commercial Sandblasting and Painting in Toledo for 43 years, retiring in 2000. Dick was a member of Lambertville United Methodist Church. Dick had a private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying for several years. He was a member of the NRA and was also an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his loving children, Lorianne Gambrell, Ward Gambrell and granddaughter, Emma Maltman. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, John “Jack” Gambrell, Jr. and Robert “Bob” Gambrell, Sr. as well as 2 sisters, Barbara Pozsik and Mary Grodi.
Visitation will be from 3-7 pm, Sunday, February 8, 2015, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services will be private. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, Salvation Army or charity of the donor’s choice. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
