On January 31, 2016, Maryalice “Miki” Bailey passed on from this life to an eternal life with God.  Miki, a lifelong resident of Toledo, was born on November 21, 1933 to Virgil and Carrie Wirick.  She was a 1951 graduate of Whitney High School where she learned the trade of sewing. Miki worked “swing shift” at Libbey Glass for 20 years as both a quality control tech and foreman, so she could support and raise her six children, whom she loved deeply and sacrificed for greatly to ensure they were cared for.  Her children were the love and devotion of her life. She retired from JC Penney, where she worked as a seamstress and manager. Miki enjoyed bowling, dancing, and roller-skating when time permitted.  She was a member of Echo Meadows Church of Christ.  God is now caring for Miki as she cared for her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Donald, Bill, George, Jack, and Duane. Miki leaves her memories to her children, Rebecca (Rob) Schnitkey, Robert (Karen) Bailey, Cathy (Phil) Tafelski, William (Ann) Bailey, Alan Bailey, Steve (Toni) Bailey; grandchildren, David, Jodi, Tracy, Mike, James, Eric, Brianna, Tabatha, Jacob, David, Audrey, Kelsey, Taya, Paige and 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Thursday, February 4, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where a celebration of Miki’s life will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Great Lake’s Caring Hospice.  www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
