Mark “Steve” DeCant, 62 of Erie, MI, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at St. Anne Mercy Hospital. Born October 29, 1952, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Harvey and Dorothy (Dibert) DeCant. He was a 1970 graduate of Mason Consolidated High School. Steve was employed as a foreman by the Canadian National Railroad (Detroit Toledo Shoreline Railroad) for 35 years, retiring in 2005.
He is survived by his loving nephews and nieces, Terry, Bruce (Jean) and Ryan Clark, Kimberly (Greg) Clark-Schweitzer, 8 great nieces and nephews, and 14 great great nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Dorothy Clark and brother, David DeCant.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, 2015, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, MI.
