Marcia A. Tietjen, 86, of Lambertville, MI, died Friday, January 20, 2017, at Aspen Grove Assisted Living. Born March 9, 1930, in Erie, MI, she was the daughter of Curtis and Irene L. (Briskey) LaVoy. A 1948 graduate from Central Catholic High School in Toledo. Marcia then went on to Mercy School of Nursing, receiving her R.N. license. She went on to work at several area hospitals in Toledo. She married Henry Tietjen on February 13, 1954, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1999. Marcia was a charter member at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance as well as a Eucharist Minister. She was committed to volunteering for numerous groups over the years, including, St. Clements Wheels Program, St. Anthony’s Villa and the past 16 years at St. Anne Mercy Hospital. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, but most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Paula (Ralph) Sochacki, Lisa Garcia, Heidi (Jim) Godmair and Andrea (Dr. Derald) Madson; sisters, Joan Cousino, Donna (William) McDonagh and Janice Droz; 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mark LaVoy and 2 sisters, Maxine LaVoy and Mary Pompos.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cherry Street Mission, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
