Lauren C. Yates, 17 of Lambertville, MI, died Thursday, December 12, 2013 in University of Michigan Mott Children’s Hospital.  Born December 23, 1995 in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Christopher and Jamie (Drabek) Yates.  Lauren was a senior at Bedford High School, where she was active in the choir, Theatre, Young Life and Soiree Singers.  Lauren has made an impact  on the lives of thousands of people here, across the US and even the world. It is simply miraculous. Lauren has given us all profound and timeless gifts. Gifts of love, of sharing a common goal and bond, of selflessness and of remembering what is important, and what is futile. At a time of year when many people might otherwise be focused on material things, she has reminded us to be faithful, prayerful and above all else thankful for each moment and each memory. She truly is an angel and has carried so many with her strength and courage.

Lauren is survived by her loving parents, Christopher and Jamie Yates.  Brother, Drew Yates.  Grandparents, Marge Miller, Al Drabek, and James and Mary Yates.

Visitation will be from 3-9 pm Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 11:00 am in Bedford Alliance Church, 8645 Jackman Rd., Temperance, MI, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am.  Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Make-A-Wish Michigan.
