Joseph Walentowski, 92 of Temperance, MI, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio.  Born October 14, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of John and Julia (Kasprzak) Walentowski, Sr.  Joseph served his country in WWII and received 2 Purple Hearts.  One from the first day at the Invasion of Normandy and the second at a battle in Veria, France. He married Dorothy LaBo on October 12, 1946.  He was employed as a punch press operator for the former City Auto Stamping for 23 years, retiring in 1965. Joseph was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church in Temperance, MI (formerly Toledo Baptist Temple), V.F.W. Post 3925, Erie, MI, American Legion 191, Lambertville, MI, D.A.V., Dundee, MI and the Purple Heart Foundation.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy. Children, Karen (John) Zimmerman, Debra (Al) Henning, Donald (Michele) Walentowski and Joseph A. (Dawn) Walentowski. 25 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Bobby Joe and Jimmy Walentowski, and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Sunday, January 11, 2015, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where services will be held Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10:00 am.  Pastor Emeritus Billy Bartlett, from Wildwood Baptist Church, officiating.  Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
