Jon E Brubaker “Butch” After being diagnosed with cancer just a month ago, Butch passed away at his home in Temperance MI on August 29th 2015 under the care of his family and Hospice of NWO. He was born on January 2, 1940 in Toledo, OH to Earl and Madonna (Mitchell) Brubaker. Butch graduated from Central Catholic H.S. in 1958 followed by 2 years at BGSU and 2 Years in the Army Reserve. He married his wife MaryEllen Hatfield on September 11th, 1965. Together they raised their daughter Jennifer and son Gregory. He was actively involved in his children’s sporting events, coaching girls softball and basketball also teaching his children to play and love his favorite sport, the game of golf. Butch retired from the Toledo Fire Department after 28 years of faithful service. He participated in the TFD Golf League, TFD softball league as well as his travel golf group of great friends at Bedford Hills G.C. You could always count on Butch to organize a golf vacation anywhere. His Mesquite, NV golf trip he started over 10 years ago, will continue in his honor as the Brubaker Group.He is survived by his wife MaryEllen. (September 11th would have been their 50th wedding anniversary); daughter Jennifer (David) Nowacki; son Gregory (Danielle) and their children Anthony & Brielle, who were the light of his life. Butch was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gary.Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where The Last Alarm Service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, September 3, 2015, at 10:00 am at Historic Church of St Patrick, 130 Avondale Ave, Toledo, OH 43602, where he will lie in state after 9:00 am. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of N.W.O.
