Jean M. Koontz, 54 of Erie, MI, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Born October 29, 1961, in Bowling Green, OH, she was the daughter of Ronald and Thelma (Wenner) Sapp. Jean was a 1979 graduate of McComb High School in McComb, OH and then received her BA from Bluffton University in 1983. She married Richard Koontz on March 3, 1996. Jean was employed by ABC Home Health Care in Toledo for several years.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Regina Parker, Jarred Parker, Brodie Koontz and step-son, Michael (Kellie) Salaz; Father, Ronald Sapp; sisters, Rhonda (Shawn) Smith, Susan Sapp and Becky (Stan) Nichols. She was preceded in death by her mother and 2 brothers, Terry and Steven Sapp.
A gathering will be held at Otterbein Portage Valley Senior Lifestyle Community, 20311 Pemberville Rd, Pemberville, OH 43450 between 1-4 pm on Saturday, January 16, 2016.
