James “Jimbo” Ellis, 71,  of Lambertville, MI, died Monday, January 27, 2014, in Ebeid Hospice Residence.  Born April 12, 1942 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Henry and Doris (Oldham) Ellis.  A 1960 graduate of Sylvania High School, he married Barbara J. Schultz on September 8, 1962. Jim along with his 2 sons, Michael & Brian started Ellis Machine & Tool, LLC in Temperance, MI in 1988. He then sold it to Michael in 2000.  Prior, He worked for Basilius Tool and Die for 10 years, where he earned his journeyman card. He was a member of Bay View Yacht Club and Moose Lodge, 1579.  Jim loved fishing at Posey Lake, boating on Lake Erie in his boat, “Ellis Island”, but most of all spending time watching his grandchildren’s numerous activities.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara.  Children, Karen (Russell) Lett, Michael (Tina) Ellis and Brian (RaeAnn) Ellis. Grandchildren, Thomas (Christin McClain) Lett, Kristen (Kyle Walworth) Lett, Shawna, Brody and Aubree Ellis, Makailyn and Drayke Cowell.  Brother, Hank (Alice) Ellis. Sister, Sandy Scaglione. Brother-in-law, Bill Schultz, Niece, Jenny Schultz. Best friends, Larry and Judy Vienhage. Boating friends, Ed and Eileen Ellis and Jim and Lydia Eck.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Pat Schultz.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 30, 2014, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd., (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm.  Memorials may be made to Promedica Hospice or Moose Lodge, 1579, Sylvania.  www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
