James “Jimmy” B. Leighton, 56 of Temperance, MI, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 in the VA Medical Center, Ann Arbor, MI.  Born September 4, 1957 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Raymond E. and Natalie J. (Leighton) Wahl. A 1975 graduate of Bedford High School, he then served his country in the US Air Force as a Fire Protection Specialist.  Jimmy was a car salesman for various dealers in the Toledo and Akron, OH area.  Previously he worked for Scholz Homes, Inc.  He was a member of Lambertville United Methodist Church, Eagles, F.O.E., 197 and V.F.W., 514, Ida.

He is survived by his loving children;  Christy Lee (Brent) Szymanski, Laura Lee Leighton, and Natasha Marie Hawkins.  Loving companion, Kathy Gween.  Mother, Natalie J. Wahl.  Brothers; Raymond and David Leighton, Richard (Mary) Wahl and Jack (Kathie) Wahl.  5 grandchildren; Jocelyn, Joey, Molly, Jaxson and Jacoby and many nieces and nephews.  Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Raymond E. Leighton, step-dad, Robert H. Wahl.  Sister, Kathy Maher and brother, Robert H. Wahl, Jr.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am.  Reverend Thomas Zimmerman, officiating.  Interment will follow at Bedford Memorial Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or Lambertville United Methodist Church.  www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
