Ivan C. Weyandt, 83 of Erie, MI, and formerly of Toledo, OH, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Ebeid Hospice Residence. Born December 23, 1932 in Rocky Ridge, OH, he was the son of Clarence and Ruth (Tabbert) Weyandt. A 1950 graduate of Genoa High School, he then served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Ivan married Barbara J. Kowalski on July 28, 1962 in the former St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, where they were members. He was a press operator for the former AP Parts, for 30 years, retiring in 1990 and was a member of U.A.W., Local 14. Ivan coached baseball for the 4th Ward in Toledo and served as a co- leader in the Cub Scouts. He enjoyed bowling in leagues with son and grandson and was an avid Ohio State, Red Wings, Lions and Tiger fan.
Ivan is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara; children, William (Grace) and Kimberly Weyandt; grandchildren, Sara (Kyle McIlhargie) Weyandt and Greg Weyandt; brother, William (Janet) Weyandt. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wayne and sister, Virginia Weyandt.
Visitation will be from 3-7 pm, Friday, June 3, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
