FUNERAL POSTPONED TILL SATURDAY, MARCH 15, 2014; SAME TIMES

Gloria J. Christian, 68, of Lambertville, MI, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. Born September 11, 1945 in Lawrenceburg, TN, she was the daughter of Robert and Lillie Maye (Venable) White. She graduated from Whitney Vocational High School in 1964 and Monroe Community College in 1985. Gloria married Clay McArthur Christian,  January 29, 1966 in Lima, Ohio, with whom she had two children. Clay preceded her in death September 3, 2000. She was employed as Office Manager with Sam Okun Produce for more than 25 years, until her retirement in 2011. Baptist in faith, she was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana. She most enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music and spending time with her 13 grandchildren: Kristen, Nick, Taylor, Paige, Abigail, Samuel, Callie, Clayton, Quinn, Gabriel, Glory, Caden and Payton.

Surviving are her loving children, Clay “Mark” (Jill) Christian II, and Aimee (Tim) Speweik, brother, Donnie (Brenda) White, sisters, Jan (Tom) Stiles and Joni Coats, many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Friends may call from 3-9 pm Tuesday, March 11, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at Faith Baptist Church, 6245 Whiteford Center Rd, Lambertville, MI 48144, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am.
