Gerald “Jerry” A. Beutler, 77 a life-long resident of Erie Twp., MI, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at The Toledo Hospital.  Born October 27, 1938, in Erie, MI, he was the son of Sylvester and Helen (Mohrbach) Beutler.   A 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Toledo, OH he served his country as a M.P.  in the US Army’s Berlin Brigade. He married Charlotte M. Montie on August 31, 1968.  Jerry was retired from the Chrysler Corporation (Jeep Corporation) and was a member of the U.A.W., Local 12, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance, MI and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, MI.  Jerry was also a former Sergeant for the Erie Twp. Police.  He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, hunting, and gardening, but most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Charlotte; children, Michael (Melinda) Beutler and Lynn (Paul) Worden; brothers, Donald and David (Carol) Beutler; sisters, Marge (Don) Trabbic, Carol (Rick) Wodarski, Linda Carle, Barb (Bob) Welch, Pam (John) Buck and Mary (Tom) Kortas; grandchildren, Sam, Matthew, Dylan, Christopher, Emily and Zachary.  Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stevie.

Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Monday, April 25, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where the rosary will be prayed Monday at 7:00 pm.   Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI, where he will lie in state after 10:00 am.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Erie, MI. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
