Genevieve E. (Szymkowiak) Gonzalez, 90, of Lambertville, MI, died Saturday, May 24, 2014, in Hickory Ridge of Temperance. Born August 28, 1923 in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Trychel) Heams. A graduate of the former Lambertville High School, she married Miguel Gonzalez on Sept. 16, 1948. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1999. Genevieve was employed by Willys-Overland (Jeep) for several years.
She is survived by her loving children, Miguel (Irene) Gonzalez, Maria Elena Kranz, Phillip (Olga) Gonzalez and David (Adela) Gonzalez. 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Genevieve was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Helen DeShetler and Dorothy Burkett and 1 brother, Harry Heams.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at 11:00 am. Fr. Brian Hurley, officiating.
