Fred E. Kelly, Jr. 79 of Temperance, MI, died Monday, December 22, 2014 in his home. Born July 13, 1935 in Monroe, MI, he was the son of Fred E. and Luella M. (Bates) Kelly, Sr. A 1954 graduate of Monroe High School, he married Alice J. Newcombe on September 7, 1957 in First Baptist Church of Temperance, MI. Fred was an inspector for GM Powertrain in Toledo for 35 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member and former pastor of Foundation Stone Church – North in Petersburg, MI, (formerly Lambertville Christian Fellowship) He retired from full time pastoring in 2008. Fred touched many lives for the Lord during his years as a pastor and his many mission trips to India and several other countries abroad. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling to the UP of Michigan and was also an avid Tigers fan in recent years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Alice. Children, Pam (Dan) Moore, Lori (Bill) Henes, Fred (Angie) Kelly, III, Brian (Sharon) Kelly and Tim (Jennifer) Kelly. Brother, Ron (Sharon) Kelly. 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 2-8 pm, Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Whiteford Union Cemetery. Pastor George Barrett, officiating.
