Eugene ‘Gene’ Reebel went to be with the Lord on Feb. 12, after receiving hospice care at home in Temperance, MI.  He was born to Albert and Marie (Chirichigno) on April 1, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio.  He graduated from West Geauga High School in Chesterland, Ohio in 1954 then served in the United States Army for 2 years, stationed in Germany.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Fenn College (now Cleveland State) in 1961.  Over his career, he worked as comptroller for several car dealerships – Joe O’Brien Chevrolet (Cleveland), Richard Chevrolet (Temperance, MI) and Brondes Ford (Toledo), and then as a part-time accountant at the Eleanor Kayle Senior Center in Toledo for 15 years after retirement.  Gene enjoyed photography, locating covered bridges, and chasing steam engine trains.  He hiked the Grand Canyon three different times with his kids.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eva Jane (Anderson), sons Alan, Brian (Valerie), Derran and daughter Vivian (Pete) and grandchildren Andrew, Eric, Adam, Tiffany, Katie, Jennifer, Betsy, Emily, Jesse, Michael, Gavin, and Gracie.  The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their kind and compassionate in-home care.  Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Monday, February 15, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 16, 2016,  at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 Laskey Rd,  Toledo, where he will lie in state after 10:00 am.  Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
