Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Know that God is aware of the tears you are shedding. (Psalm 56:18) He will soon do what is said at Acts 24:15, which promises us of a resurrection of our loved ones. May that bring you hope. Take comfort in your good memories and allow your family and loving friends to help you through this difficult time

My condolences to you, Janet. For 5 years on Tuesdays Doug joined John, Jerry and I (and my Dad Mel from time to time) bowling at Nortel and later Sport Center. We were fortunate to win the league a few times, and always had a good time. We'd always see Doug walk in at 6 pm'ish and say "good morning", and always enjoyed each others company. He was a good man, a good bowler, and was especially proud of his step-son who he always spoke of fondly, as well as the Operatic Major and the University of Nebraska. I will miss you, Doug. When we meet again, you can be there waiting for me with a knuckle bump. Thank you for 5 good years, and understanding the chances of me making a 10-pin spare were not very good. Rest in peace, and thanks for some very, very good memories on the lanes.

My sincere condolences to Doug's family, his wife Janet, his children Josh and Rachel, his brothers Mark and Darrell, and his parents Karen and John. Doug was very special to me and my family. We share great high school memories. I can't even think one memory from high school that Doug wasn't in it. My family always loved playing board games with Doug. I had the honor to be taken to the High School Prom with Doug. We all were proud of him when he joined the Navy and even proud of him when he married Janet. We all remains friends through the years. Doug bowled and played softball with Darcy and some of my other family members. We appreciate all the good times we shared with Doug. You will be truly missed Doug.

Doug was a really great guy. When I served as Commander of VFW Post 9656, he contributed greatly to the efficient running of the Post and made my job a lot easier. He will be missed. My sincerest prayers go out to his family.

I had the privilege of being Doug's second grade teacher at Hollywood Elementary School. I remember Doug as always polite, neat and respectful as well as being an excellent academic student. It looks like he grew into a man who kept all of those qualities, which knowing his supportive family, is not a bit surprising. May you look toward the light and find peace in your memories.
