Doris M. Abernathy, 90 of Temperance, MI, died Saturday, June 27, 2015, in Heartland of Oregon. Born February 8, 1925, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Arthur and Flossie (Knaggs) Hayward. She was the widow of Charles Abernathy, who preceded her in death in 1992. She enjoyed puzzles, traveling and reading.
She is survived by her loving children, William (Ann) Round, Rita (Stan) Batt, Ellen (Douglas) Grames and James Round; Brother, Martin Hayward, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Doris was also preceded in death by her sisters, Jean Zygula and Marion Meraldo.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at 11:00 am. Deacon Jim Dudley, officiating.
