Donald “Don” E. Brake, 67, of Toledo, OH, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, February 13, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.  Born May 12, 1948, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Roscoe and Ireta (Carpenter) Brake.  A 1966 graduate of Whitmer High School, he then served his country as a Corporal in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.  Don attended the former Toledo Bible College  and then married Patricia A. Riley on July 19, 1975.  He was a machine operator for GM Powertrain  for over 31 years, retiring in 2001.  Don was an active member of Bedford Alliance Church, an avid fisherman of fish and men’s souls. He loved to read the Word of God and was a prayer warrior.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia; daughters, Rachel (Jason) Shamy, Rebekah (James) Morehart and Ruth (Andy) Mahoney; brothers, Jim (Janet), Larry (Linda), Dave (Margaret),  and John (Audrey) Brake; sister, Lois (Di) Cummins; 8 grandchildren, Alex and Austin, David, Lyla, Gracie, Elijah, Zoey,  Alleluia; and very special uncle, Eugene Carpenter.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 3-7 pm, Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm.  Reverend Robert Hinz, officiating.  Interment will be private.  Memorials may be made to Bedford Alliance Church, Cherry Street Mission or Wounded Warrior Project.  www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
