Dennis R. Walker, 79 of Temperance, MI, died Friday, February 5, 2016, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo.
Born February 4, 1937, in Adrian, MI, he was the son of Claude and Opal (Herrell) Walker. Dennis was a 1955 graduate of Adrian High School, and furthered his education at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI, where he earned a Bachelor of Science. He was employed as a Pharmacist in Michigan and Ohio for many years, retiring eventually from Rite Aid in Toledo. He was a member of the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. He married Darlene Ann Reiser on January 16, 1960 in Adrian, and she survives.
Dennis will be remembered for being a very accomplished swimmer in high school, winning many honors, he was a avid reader, always educating himself through the books he enjoyed reading, and earned the nickname “Webster” with his family and friends.
As well as his wife, he is survived by a son Michael Walker of Toledo; four grandchildren, Brent, Morgan, Megan, and Charity; a great granddaughter, Paisley; a brother, Claude (Shirley) Walker of Tecumseh; and a sister, Carol “Sis” (Larry) Vansickle of Oregon.
Sadly, he was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Gregory Walker.
Memorial visitation will be held at Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road, Temperance, on Tuesday, February 9, from 1 PM until his Memorial Service at 2 PM . Rev. Timothy Loewe, pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church will officiate.
