David S. Winkel, Sr., 75, of Lambertville, MI, died Monday, February 19, 2018, at St. Anne Mercy Hospital. Born September 8, 1942, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Stephen and Laura P. (Zolciak) Winkel. He was a 1960 graduate of the former DeVilbiss High School in Toledo. David was employed by St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center for 28 years, retiring in 2004. Prior, he worked for Toledo Tool. David married Dee Anna Diroff on September 16, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV after a 10 year courtship. He loved fixing and selling used slot machines and small engines, going to garage sales and traveling.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dee Anna; children, David S. (Abbie) Winkel, Jr. and Brenda Newberry; grandsons, Austen and Gabrial; sisters, Barbara Leck and Diane (Dan) McCreery. David was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 3-6 pm, Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
