Daniel “Dan” E. Kolar,  61, of Lambertville, MI, died Friday, August 29 2014, peacefully, in his home.  Born October 4, 1952 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Stanley and Dorothy (Ascheman) Kolar.  A 1970 graduate of Bedford High School, he married Karen V. Stefansky on June 30, 1973.  Dan worked as an electrician out of  I.B.E.W., Local 8 in Rossford, OH for 35 years, retiring in 2008.  Dan was a kind soul, a hunter, fisherman, lumberjack, woodsman, electrician, builder, tool-lover, fixer of anything, campfires and grilling, Euchre player, story teller, farmer, gardener, tractor aficionado, aspiring auctioneer, arrowhead expert, Saturday night Country Gold listener, Jeremiah Johnson and John Wayne fan, beard grower, wealth of knowledge, and all around good guy.  A bright Local #8 bulb burned out way too soon. Vaya con dios, Dan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Karen. Children; Benjamin (Heather) Kolar of Toledo, OH and Katherine Kolar of Temperance, MI. Grandchildren; Morgan, Grant, Hailey and Ian.

Brothers; David (Cherie) of Ida, MI, Dale (Brandy) of Temperance, MI and Duane (Mary) Kolar of Spirit Lake, IA.  Sisters; Margaret Rouleau of Bay City, MI and Geneva (Gerald) Pound of Clinton, MI.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Dean Kolar.

A gathering will be from 1-4 pm,  Saturday, September 13, 2014, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI.  Memorials may be made to Monroe County 4-H or charity of the donor’s choice.  www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
