Christine “Chris” A. Abate, 61, of Lambertville, MI, went to be home with Jesus on Sunday, January 5, 2014, in Flower Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born January 17, 1952 in Gross Pointe Farms, MI, she was the daughter of Francis and Florence (Ziobron) Teno. She married her childhood sweetheart, Anthony L. Abate on November 22, 1969. Chris was employed by the Lambertville Hardware for 15 years and was a member of Compelled Church in Temperance, MI. She loved cooking, shopping, traveling, Disney World, but most of all she loved her family and the Lord. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Anthony. Daughters, Angela “Angie” Berry and Heather Abate. 9 grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, Cody, Hannah, Abigail, Bayleigh, Bradley, Hayden and Emma. Brother, Kenny (Carol) Teno and sister, Sue Rivard. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Linda Pascoe.
Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Whiteford Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Compelled Church.
