Beverly E. (Miller) Canard, 81, of Temperance, MI, was welcomed home by her Savior on February 25, 2014 after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Born June 10, 1932 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, she was the daughter of Donald and Lois (Burke) Miller.

Beverly graduated from Central High School in Kalamazoo and two weeks later married the love of her life, Harvy Canard, formerly from Mountain View, Arkansas, in a garden wedding June 24, 1950, in Kalamazoo, MI.  With their family of seven they relocated to Temperance, MI in (1964) where Beverly became employed with General Mills of Toledo, Ohio and worked there 31 years. Harvy preceded her in death on August 4, 2012.

Her life with Harvy was centered in serving the Lord at their home church, Bedford Alliance, Temperance, MI where she was a member.  She dearly appreciated the acts of kindness and compassion extended to her from church friends, close neighbors, extended family and her loving medical team during Harvy’s illness and passing as well as during her own illness these last two years.

She is survived by five children, Linda (Phil) Kittredge of Livonia, Karen (Mark) Francis of Lambertville, Beverly (Rick) Kinney of Temperance, Don (Janelle) Canard of Temperance, Marcia (Jim) Brinkman of Oceanside, CA, sister Janice (Tom) Collins of Comstock, MI, 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, step dad, Leon Miner, 1 brother, and 3 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Friday, February 28, 2014 in the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Westgate Chapel, 2500 Wilford Dr, Toledo, OH 43615, where she will lie in state after 1:30 pm.  Interment will follow at Bedford Memorial Gardens.  Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
