Anita Joan Samuels, 82 of Ohatchee Alabama, formerly of Monroe, Michigan passed away on September 11, 2016 at Jacksonville Nursing Home and Rehab Center. Born on August 5, 1934 in Phillipi West Virginia to Seymour and Ruby (Belden) Wyatt.

Survived by Rev. Michael (Cindy) Samuels (Lexington AL), Jeffrey (Heidi) Samuels (Monroe MI) Sandra (Mark) Reno (Clinton Twp. MI).  Grandchildren;  Jessica, Nichole, Sarah, Sommer, Steven and 10 Great Grandchildren.  Also survived by siblings Janet Yingling, Seymour (Audrey) Wyatt Jr, Gary  ( Audrey) Wyatt, sister in law Loretta Wyatt and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents Seymour and Ruby Wyatt brother David Wyatt and her special son Jack “Jackie” Samuels.

Anita graduated from Phillippi High School in 3 years and went to Western Union Management School.  She managed Western Union Offices for 15 years.  After taking time off to have children she returned to work managing a Lawson grocery store franchise.  She opened J&J Ceramics in Temperance MI.  She then founded Anita’s Home Health Care in Monroe Michigan.

Anita was a member of Ohatchee United Methodist Church in Ohatchee Alabama.  She received Christ as her Lord and Savior through Duke and Sylvia when she was 10 years old in a Sunday school class in Phillippi West Virginia.  Anita was also a member of the Rebecca Lodge and the VASHTI #431 Order of the Eastern Star in Lanett Alabama.

Visitation for Anita will be on Friday September 16, 2016 at Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home 1640 Smith Rd. Temperance MI 48182 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with an Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m.  A Funeral Service for Anita will be Saturday September 17, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 9144 Lewis Ave.  Temperance, MI 48182, with an In State time of 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m.  Pastor Lew Carlson will officiate.  Burial will take place immediately following the service at Whiteford Union Cemetery. Donations may be made to ARC of Monroe County MI.
