Andrew ” Phil” Coyne, Jr. 70, of Temperance, MI, died Thursday, January 28, 2016, in his home.  Born, March 14, 1945 in Monroe, MI, he was the son of Andrew P. and Alice (Harrington) Coyne, Sr.  He was a 1963 graduate of St. Mary Catholic Central High School, in Monroe, MI and served his country in the US Marines during the Vietnam War. Phil married Diana (DeDe) L. Wernert on Sept. 9, 1972.  He retired from the Ford Motor Company in Monroe, MI after 40 years of employment. He was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Toledo, where he sang in the choir and bowled on the men’s league.  Phil was also a member of the U.A.W., Local 723 in Monroe and V.F.W., 4093 in Carleton, MI.

Phil is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, DeDe; son, Greg (Christina) Coyne; brothers, Jim (June) Coyne and Tim Coyne; Sisters, Mary Alice Aranata, Louise (Bob) Blazoff and Marcella (Bill) Condon. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patsy Coyne.

Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Monday, February 1, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 3274 Upton Avenue, Toledo, OH 43613, where he will lie after 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Bedford Memorial Gardens. Pastor Stacey Lauer-Scovanner, officiating. Memorials may be made to the church.  www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
